Description
Care Instructions:
This requires delicate approach to avoid damaging the natural fibres.
Regular Vacuuming:
Use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to remove loose dirt, dust & debris from the surface of the rug. Vacuum the rug in the direction of the weave to prevent pulling or damaging the fibres.
Spot Cleaning:
For spills & stains, blot the affected area immediately with a clean, dry cloth to absorb as much liquid as possible. Avoid rubbing the stain, as this can push it deeper into the fibres. You can use a mild detergent mixed with water to gently clean the stain. Test the detergent solution on a small, inconspicuous area of the rug first to ensure it does not cause discolouration.
Rinse with Water:
After spot cleaning, dampen a clean cloth with plain water and blot the area to rinse away any soap residue. Again, avoid saturating the rug with water, as excessive moisture can damage the fibres.
Air Dry:
Allow the rug to air dry completely after cleaning. Hand the rug outdoors in a well-ventilated area or lay it flat on a clean surface. Avoid placing the rug in direct sunlight near heat sources, as this can cause the natural fibres to shrink or become brittle.
Preventive Measures:
To protect rug from dirt & wear, consider using a rug pad underneath to provide cushioning and prevent slipping. Rotate the rug periodically to ensure even wear and exposure to light.
Professional Cleaning:
If your rug requires deep cleaning or if you’re unsure about howe to remove a particular stain, consider hiring a professional rug cleaner who has experience working with natural fibre.
